In an attempt to actually put some content on this blog… I decided every Sunday I’m going to post what I played the previous week, beyond what the current side bar says.
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (DS)
Come to think of it I never finished the Lost Age… I’ll have to see if I can hunt down that cartridge… Anyways, I’m currently at the eclipse trying to find the Umbra Gear parts. I’ve got one so far.
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (GameCube)
“It’s unthinkable to act against the EMPIRE!”
I forgot how bad the voice acting was. I hadn’t played this game for a few years and I decided to actually try and get somewhere in it. I was last at the Celestial Tree boss fight. I’m now at Mira, and I think there will be a lot of level grinding and deck building in the future.
Also on the subject of Baten Kaitos, I’d really love to see Kalas as a character in Smash 4. I see him playing as a fusion between Pit and Ike… So he will be a giant pain in the ass, who can easily spam attacks. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your view)… Namco Bandai owns character rights.
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg (GameCube)
A strange platformer about a kid in a chicken suit. I’m in the carnival level. Trying not to break the golden egg.
The key word in that sentence being ‘trying’. Most of the time I end up losing hold of the egg and it falls off the edge.
Fluidity (Wii Ware)
A Wiiware game where you move water. I have no idea what to classify it as. A Physics, Platformer, Puzzle game? I’m in the second area having just gotten the ability to transform into ice.
Metroid: Other M (Wii)
Dear Metroid Review,
Please stop costing so much freaking money. I realize it’s not all your fault and my old laptop’s melting was due to age. And, well, it was probably going to go in the year anyways.
I also decided to upgrade to some decent video editing software from the old Window’s Movie Maker to Sony Vegas. (That and Windows 7 didn’t come with Window’s movie maker for some reason… Or at least a demo of Windows office… Geeze do you have any idea how weird it is to go back to Windows Office 2000 which I just happened to have lying around the house?)
But then, my Easy Cap didn’t work with the new laptop I bought and I had to find some drivers online, but when I got the video to work it didn’t record audio. After a weekend of troubleshooting I gave up, I went out and bought another USB recording device, and I’m really glad that it works.
Just be fully aware that you’re going on Blip so I can make back some money.
Sincerely,
Saber
Dear Old Laptop,
Did you really have to die when I was recording the Hell Run segment? I’m just wondering if you were aware of the irony there about overheating.
Sincerely,
Saber
Dear Adam,
My second play through is doing very little to make me stop thinking that you’re a giant asshole who is constantly trying to kill Samus through inaction.
Sincerely,
Saber
P.S. You’re going to die soon, I’m pretty sure the situation could easily be avoided with the mines you had at the beginning of the game. Or burning a hole in the door with your laser and opening fire with the infinite missiles that Samus’ suit was able to produce. Just saying.
Sin and Punishment: Successor to the Earth (Virtual Console/N64)
A virtual console game. I really just played the first few levels to kill some time.
999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (DS)
I bought it after Christmas, but never got to playing it. I’m currently in the kitchen of the ship. It definitely deserves that ‘M’ rating though with all of those F-bombs being dropped.
And yes, I laughed at the “Well, excuuuuuuuse me Princess.” line
Sonic Adventure DX: Director’s Cut
Because there was a thunderstorm going on and I had the urge to listen to Open Your Heart. I’m weird like that.
