Games played this week

Well, this week I played quite a bit... Stuff after the jump.

Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero (DS)

The original Elebits (or Eledees (ha ha ha) in PAL regions) was for the Wii, it was a launch period game in which most of the fun was just tearing things apart, and making a mess, with your gravity gun.  The later levels were way too big, and went on for far too long.

The sequel, sees the protagonist from the first game, Kai, traveling to different worlds with his pet Elebit Zero.  Unlike the first game, its focus is on puzzles.  It's basically a light version of Zelda, the items however are different Elebits.

inFamous (PS3)

More fun, jumping, flying and zapping people.  Rather annoying that civilians keep getting in my way.  I'll enjoy my second play through so much...

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves (PS3)

It came with the PS3, and this was the first time I played it.

I got through the first chapter.  And I didn't exactly like it.  It felt way, way, way too scripted.  Reach point A on the train, door falls down.  Reach point B, falling rock/snow narrowly misses you.  Reach point C, railing at the bottom of the train moves requiring Drake to grab on something else.  You can hang there for 10 minutes, but as soon as you reach point X, the train now loses balance and begins to fall down the cliff, requireing a cliched jump out of falling train to grab onto the cliff edge and pull yourself up.  All while suffering from a blood loss, and probably frostbite too.

I'm hoping it improves in the future.

LostMagic (DS)

This was an early DS game, my only memories of it are; buying it while camping and then playing it during a thunderstorm.  It is an RTS game.  You use the stylus to move your monsters and also to do magic spells.  I just really hate the stupid time limit for doing things.

There was apparently a spiritual successor on the Wii, however it was published by Nintendo in Japan and we all know what that means.  We're never getting it.  (Although, it actually bombed in Japan, only selling 3000 units the first week... so I guess this one is at least understandable)

Kirby Canvas Curse (DS)

This game has the distinction of being one of the select few games I've actually bought twice.  The reason being, I lost my original copy years back.  It's always been on the back of my mind to pick it up if I see one for sale, and saw it used a few months ago.  $34.99 later, I had a copy again.

I believe that this and Meteos were the first games that proved to me that, yes, touchscreen gaming can work.

In this game, Kirby has been transformed into a ball and you must use the DS stylus to draw lines, that will help protect, and guide Kirby.   I got through the second level on a new save.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GameCube)

I started a new file.  I wanted to play through a Zelda game again.  I'm currently at Dragon Roost Island, I just got on it, so I'm not at the dungeon yet.  However I'm going through it slowly.
